It's Not Bad Luck, It's Neuroscience

It's Not Bad Luck, It's Neuroscience

The Year of the Fire Horse began on February 17th, 2026. Now, March hails in traditional Irish themes of luck with four-leaf clover symbolism and hopes to find a leprechaun's treasure at the end of a rainbow.🍀

And here you are, still working towards the goals you set for yourself this year, having achieved nothing that you had intended to at this point, with the end of the first quarter looming just ahead.

So, what was it?

🤔Did you want to lose weight or get fit (they are two different things)?

🤔Are you pursuing an educational or professional achievement?

🤔Were you hoping to find "the one" or at least start dating someone new by now, or rekindle the romance with the one you're with?

What is that you haven't achieved yet, and what, really, is hindering you?

Most people internalize failure, believing they haven't worked hard enough or approached the situation correctly.

Some tell themselves to be patient, and that they haven't given it enough time. Then, they hope and pray for the day when they finally get their due rewards.

Others become so discouraged that they just stop trying altogether. They just presume it wasn't meant to be or that they're cursed in this life.

But what if achievement has more to do with you than anything else?

You see, what you believe about yourself deep down actually shows up in your behaviors, actions, and decisions. In fact, 95% of your life is driven by those subconscious beliefs.

But because you live on autopilot, you're often unaware of the the way they sabotage your self-perception and success—success being some combination of health, wealth, and happiness, let's say.

The good news is that once you do become aware of how your brain can oftentimes work against you, you can begin the work of identifying and replacing those limiting beliefs holding you back.

So, you see, achieving what you want in life isn't luck.

It's within your power to do, when you choose to do it.

Sure, there are layers of self-discovery and radical honesty to work through; and then conscious intention to assert and enforce boundaries around your values, time, energy, and all the other aspects of life that support the vision you have for yourself. In doing so, however, you will begin to embody and enact the behaviors of the person you want to become. Soon enough, your nervous system will settle into that identity, too, allowing you to enjoy the achievements you are pursuing with the ease and trust that they will be yours.
